May 9, 2004 Toxic people - we deal with them everyday and we need ways to equip ourselves to most effectively distance ourselves from their manipulations. We explored the toxic personality disorder with Dr. Ruthie O. Grant, author of "I thought I was the crazy one" Relationship Roundtable Segment: We get tons of emails from young women and girls facing some of life’s most difficult emotional challenges. Recently we’ve heard from several who are, or have friends who are going through seriously unhealthy or life-threatening situations. We’ve posted one of the emails here. We took tons of calls during this show from individuals offering advice for people like Jessica, Brittany, Leah and Taylor. Many of them had gone through periods of self-mutilation themselves, and were calling to share their stories. This was an incredible outpouring of honest, sincere care and concern for anyone facing this terrifying situation. We were amazed by the young women willing to share such intimate details of their lives in order to help save others from some of their pain. Thanks to everyone involved in this show. We interviewed Amy Joyce. She writes a terrific column in The Washington Post Sunday edition, entitled "Life At Work" We discussed the pros and cons of office romances and office friendships. Speaking of the workplace, we ran across a pretty
terrific article recently we want to share with you. Check this out: Put Down Powder
